(May Allaah raise his rank and grant him peace)

When Waking Up at Night

1. It is reported of the Prophet (صلي الله عليه و سلم) that he said: “One who wakes up at night and says:

“There is none worth of worship but Allaah alone, Who has no partner, His is the dominion and to Him belongs all praise, and He is able to do all things. I declare Allaah free of all imperfection. Praise is to Allaah. There is none worth of worship but Allaah. Allaah is the Most Great. There is no might and no power except by Allaah’s leave, the Exalted, the Mighty.

Then says: My Lord, forgive me.

or supplicated, he will be answered, then if he makes ablution and prays his prayer would be accepted”.

 2. It is reported of the Prophet (صلي الله عليه و سلم) that he said: If one of you wakes up then let him say:

“Praise is to Allaah Who gave strength to my body and returned my soul to me

and permitted me to remember Him”.

3. The Messenger of Allaah (صلي الله عليه و سلم) said:

“Whoever retires to his bed in a state of tahaarah [maintaining ablution] … no time span of the night would pass in which he was asking Allaah for Good of the Worldly Life, or that of the Hereafter except that Allaah would grant him it”.
